Our story

From community initiative to registered organisation

Muskan Foundation began its social service journey in 2001 with a focus on persons with disabilities and children with special needs. During its early years, the group worked informally to provide guidance, relief and community support.

According to the Foundation’s organisational records, formal registration under the Jammu & Kashmir Societies Registration Act was completed in April 2019. Recognition under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 followed in 2021, and registration under the National Trust Act, 1999 was obtained on 17 November 2021.

Today, the Foundation continues to work in disability inclusion, special education, senior citizen care, health awareness and community outreach from Vijaypur in District Samba.
